Radii - Wrist Watch
A concept for a wrist watch, which combines soft geometric forms with a rationalized aesthetic and is produced from environment friendly materials and products.
The essence of the watch is simple; a black strap, a silver anodised metal body and a glossy white face. It could all be very monotone, but I was keen to include a shock of colour with the orange hand details to give the main focal point some vibrant interest.
The Bezel (Housing) is made from 100% recycled Aluminum reclaimed from beverage cans. The Leather-like strap would be made with a high-quality alternative to leather.
Rather than using 100% petroleum-based PU, the base of the Watch strap's materials are made with up to 45% plant content from corn. Made from non-food grade corn, the material contains more than 30% plant content. The corn is sourced from a renewable source, and the final material is 3x more environmentally friendly than animal leather.
Finally, the two part box is made from moulded Bagasse pulp with a cork insert to house the watch, and is detailed with rounded corners to continue the Radius concept from the product to it's packaging.
