Rokit - Lava Lamp

I designed and developed the Rokit Lava Lamp for Mathmos, a rocket-shaped giant lava lamp that was inspired by Cartoon rockets from the past and present. 

Historically Mathmos has had sucess through the years with Rocket shaped Lamps, with some models that were previously issued having become highly sort after collectors items.

It was felt that there was room for a new Rocket lamp in the Mathmos range, but the challenge was for it to be made in the UK and occupy an accessible price point.  Which, post brexit and with material prices increasing exponentially after covid, was a real challenge!

The aim was to maximize percieved value by offering a new and unque design but at the same time minimize manufacturing costs, through a combination of increasing production efficiency and material / component light-weighting.
