Saturn, standing 5ft (1.5m) tall, is the largest production-line lava lamp made by Mathmos. Designed for convenience, it can be set up easily without any special on-site filling or assembly.

I worked with the Mathmos team and UK suppliers to create a high-quality product using ultra-clear borosilicate glass and a hand-polished, spun, and laser-cut aluminum base.

Saturn’s design takes inspiration from Mathmos' classic Princess Tripod Lamp, updating the three-legged structure with laser-cut aluminum for a taller, sleeker profile. This raises the viewing height, making the lava enjoyable to watch from both seated and standing positions.

For added security, the legs have optional floor-fixing points, and the base includes a silicone lining to keep the bottle securely in place. Saturn combines modern design with a nod to Mathmos' heritage.
